Fungal nail infections are one of the more difficult fungal infections to treat, and also one of the slowest to heal. Expect treatment to last a minimum of 2 months, possibly longer. Treatment should continue uninterrupted until all traces of the infection are gone, and then an additional 10 days to be sure all traces of the infection are eradicated. Treatment may be repeated if the infection recurs in the future.

Sometimes infected nails will fall off. Treatment should continue regardless; apply the medication to any infected tissue in the area, and to the new nail as it grows in.

Very rarely some individuals have a negative reaction to the tincture, which may cause pain, inflammation, severe itching and other unpleasant side effects. Discontinue use if this happens; other antifungal treatments with differing ingredients may be tried instead.
